Avoiding friends.
We ALL love our friends and thanks to the internet we can always stay in touch with them. Kelsey brought up a good point earlier today when she mentioned one of the benefits of enterprise instant messaging – avoiding friends. She didn’t quite put it that way but at the end of the day that is one of the strengths of enterprise instant messaging. Now for most of us that isn’t necessarily a plus but with the ever growing power of the internet it is increasingly difficult to avoid them at all which can interfere with our work. So in truth, if we are willing to admit it to ourselves, it is a necessary way to focus. In other words you can be on instant messenger to communicate with all of your co-workers and clients, while at the same time not hurting one of your friends feelings by ignoring their messages – or hurt your productivity by paying attention to them. It is a win-win.
And for the companies themselves – well, it is one positive way to cut down on the distractions that currently are hampering the workplace. It seems like nearly everyday a new study is showing out discussing how much productivity was lost in recent years due to the internet. Brosix allows companies to harness the positives while cutting down on the factors that can get in the way of people doing their jobs.
After all we have plenty of time to focus on our friends when we get home and we might get home earlier if we focus during the day!

Also – Brosix is now active on Twitter! It seems like recent weeks have seen Twitter become more and more mainstream as the buzz has grown – so follow us on Twitter and see what the hype is all about. http://twitter.com/brosixim is the spot!
