Chat Bots as Hidden Advertising
I know that we here at the Brosix blog have talked about how great it is that the Brosix Instant Messenger does not have any advertisements. But we haven’t mentioned the fact that Brosix does not have any chat bots like AOL Instant Messenger does. For those of you are unaware of what a chat bot is, it is a program that appears on your buddy list as a friend. You can have IM conversations with these chat bots, and they will respond to your messages as if they were a real person.
I know what you are thinking- that sounds neat. Well, maybe it is at first, but chat bots get old fast. It is nice to have it tell you your horoscope or daily news, but the automated responses and subtle ads it places at the bottom of the conversation menus really shows that they are just a more creative attempt to push ads onto users. Because it is voluntary to converse with the bots, no one can say those ads were forced onto those of us that use AIM or other instant messaging programs. However, I think subtle advertising is just another tactic to con those who use free programs into seeing advertisements.
This is the best thing about Brosix. They don’t need to use annoying chat bots to get business. The creators of Brosix know that the basis of creating a user-friendly and innovative instant messaging program means a program with absolutely no advertisements. Brosix will not install hidden adware or spyware on your computer, nor will they pretend to be helpful and then force you to read ads you didn’t want to waste your time on. Please consider Brosix IM for your personal or corporate use.
