Communicate Better in the New Year

Besides it is a start to the new year, it’s time to write down your New Year’s resolutions. While many people chose the obvious resolutions– lose weight, eat better, stop smoking — there are other resolutions that you may realize need to be made as you take a good look into your life and what you can improve upon. For instance, this year, besides vowing to get healthier, I’ve also decided to communicate better with my friends, family, and co-workers. I know that in this day and age (where communication is everywhere thanks to smart phones), staying in touch with those who matter most to me shouldn’t be a difficult endeavor.

However, I feel like ironically, with more communication and accessibility, also comes more excuses and a lot of procrastination. Knowing that I can talk to the person later makes me wait around to actually connect with them.

That’s why my goal of communicating better with everyone in my immediate circle (both professionally and personally) will help me stop procrastinating and help me be more successful. Besides texting and using email, I also like using instant messaging to communicate with the people I need to. That’s where Brosix comes in. Using the whiteboard and video conferencing helps me get projects done, and my brother and I can make eachother laugh using the text instant messaging.

May your new year’s resolutions be positive and manageable! I wish you all great success.
