Let’s face it: some corporate instant messengers offer more features than others. What does your application do for you? As you know, every organization is looking for something unique. What you find useful in your corporate instant messenger may not be something that the next company cares about – and vice versa.

So, what are some of the most important features?

1. Networks. No matter the size of your company, you may want to create networks as a way of staying organized and helping employees better communicate with one another. Along with this, the administrator has the power to determine who is authorized to join the network.

2. Free technical support. Okay, this does not have anything to do with actually using an instant messenger. That being said, it may be the most important feature that you ever consider. If the company you rely on offers free technical support you will never have to worry about something going wrong and holding you back. Instead, if you face a problem you can get in touch with them and work out an immediate solution.

3. Chat history. Do you ever think back to a past conversation and wish that you remember what was said? If so, this feature is one that you will rely on time and time again. All of your text chats are recorded locally for later use. At any time in the future you can review previous chat sessions.

While most corporate instant messengers are full of features, you need to focus on those that important to you and your organization. If your application suits your every need, it is safe to say that it will become an integral part of your business.
