Download Instant Messenger: Two Options
The Brosix enterprise instant messenger has multiple download options when you are ready to distribute the application to the workforce. But before we dive into your options, here’s a little disclaimer: please never download an instant messenger from anywhere other than the Brosix.com or Brosix.org domains. This is just to protect you from potential security threats.
With that being said, once you have downloaded the application and tested your network, you are ready to distribute. Brosix offers one of two options:
Download instant messenger directly
You can simply send the link to your employees so they can download the appropriate version. This saves strain on your email servers since you will not have to add a massive attachment. Since many email clients do not allow users to send each other files anyway, we have found that this options tends to work the best.
You can find the link you can send to your employees on the Download page in your “My Network” control panel. Just login to your control panel -> Go to the “My Network” tab -> click the “Download” button -> just paste the secure link in an email and you’re done!
Send the app as an attachment
Alternatively, you can simply download the instant messenger application yourself and email the entire app to your employees. This works fine if you have your own email servers and do not mind the file being duplicated many times. Just make sure you include instructions for your employees to save the application installer to their hard drives and then delete the email so your servers do not get loaded down.
This option is not ideal if you are using Gmail accounts, as an example, since the application is large enough to take a long time to download if your internet connection is slow. While the installer is just under 5MB, this is large enough to slow down your entire network if you don’t plan carefully.
Either way, you have a solution that should fit your needs. As always, let us know if you have any questions!
