technology in today's societyIn our society, immediacy is a newly developed attribute of the times and a tone of expectation held by the current generation. From microwave cooking and remote control, to cell phones and debit cards, modern technology has increased productivity in all areas of life. A recent study conducted by the International Telecommunications Union, a specialized agency of the U.N., noted that over 75% of the U.S. population uses the internet.

The pace in which we move, interact and communicate is becoming more rapid and as time progresses, new tools & technologies are emerging to support and further this drive.

Noticeably integrated into this age of advanced accessibility is enhanced communications and heightened social interaction. Many people utilize several multi-purpose devices that connect and centralize diverse interests such as home, work, family, friends and business.

Email and texting functions, once the benchmark for quick communication are inherently delayed with delivery and response time. Instant Messaging or IM is gaining favor and popularity as a versitile communication app. Compatible with all email providors and social media platforms, IM can facilitate multiple conversations simultaneously. Emerging IM features include the ability to send photos, video and voice recorded Instant Messages.

Increasingly people are connecting and communicating with immediacy, and in real time.
