Make Instant Messaging Simple

It is amazing how many people make instant messaging difficult. This is a tool that is supposed to make your life easier. For this reason, you want to stick to the basics and let the instant messaging tool do all of the work for you. Remember, you don’t have to do much on your end. Instead, all you have to do is communicate when necessary and let the application take care of the rest.

Take for instance employees who use instant messaging to communicate with coworkers. Why would you want to make this difficult on yourself when it can be so beneficial? When you need to speak with a coworker you can send him a quick message and wait for a reply. There is no reason to get caught up in other details such as telling the person you are going to IM them, talking a crazy language, etc. Simply put, be yourself when using instant messages and let everything else fall into place.

Of course, there are more complex details of most instant messaging programs. But even then, everything is simple if you follow the program and let it take care of all the hard work. Maybe you want to start a chat so your entire team can get involved. This is a bit more complicated than a basic conversation between two people, but again, your instant messaging program is meant to handle such situations.

Don’t turn instant messaging into brain surgery. This is a simple yet effective way to communicate with coworkers. When you let the program do its job and you do yours, you will be happy with the end result.
