Reviewing Chat Logs as an Administrator
Chat logs can be a great way to see if employees are staying on task and keeping instant messaging conversations that are happening during work appropriate.
Brosix Enterprise allows instant messaging network administrators to review chat logs between users that are on the company’s instant messaging network. It is advisable to let employees know ahead of time that their chat logs will be monitored before they begin using the network. This just provides an open level of communication and helps keep employees’ trust in their employer.
To regularly monitor chat logs, it might be best to set up a schedule for monitoring. Chose a certain date and time of the week or month to review the logs. Additionally, it might not be the best use of time to review all logs, depending on how many employees there are. Randomly selecting chat logs to monitor and review might be a more efficient protocol.
