While talking to one of my good friends on Brosix Instant Messenger the other day, I thought about how many good reasons there are to download Brosix Public. So, I thought I would get on the Brosix blog and write some of them out (as if you all needed another reason to download Brosix instant messenger anyway!)

3. Brosix is safe and keeps your computers free of viruses and other threats.
4. Brosix Public offers many of the same features that Brosix Enterprise does, but without the cost.

6. Brosix has a lot of great features that aren’t offered on other free IM programs- whiteboard, voicemail, screen sharing, and more.

Did you know that Brosix offers a free 30-day trial for a free private network? I mentioned this in a previous post, but I feel that it is a good enough deal to repeat twice! This trial version is also NOT a watered-down ‘trial program’ of the real Brosix secure IM program. According to the sign-up page, 

During the trial period you will be able to use all the features of the full version. At any time you will be able to upgrade and add more user licenses through the web control panel.

This means that you can fully try Brosix before you buy. If you don’t want to go into setting up your own network, or are looking for a more permanent free option, check out Brosix Public, which is a free version of the Enterprise Brosix IM program that charges a per-user fee.

It doesn’t get much more affordable than free, now does it? The Brosix creators and developers have created this 30-day trial and Brosix Public because they are sure that you will love Brosix and want to use it in your workplace for all of your private network online communications.

There are many parts to the Brosix website that many of you may not know about. Brosix is broken into 2 parts- there is a Brosix public, which provides the instant messenger program to anyone free of charge (http://www.brosix.org) and the Brosix Secure Corporate IM for private companies (http://www.brosix.com).

Both of these choices provide the great Brosix messaging program to users, but the paid version (Secure Corporate IM) does not have any ads, and charges on a per-user rate. Corporate IM also allows employee IM accounts to be managed online by supervisors or managers. Additionally, accounts are encrypted with 256-bit keys, so the data remains useless to anyone trying to hack into a Brosix IM conversation or file transfer.

Brosix really stresses the importance of collaboration when working with co-workers or friends. Such attributes (which have been mentioned in earlier blog entries) include collaborative web browsing, where 2 users are able to surf the same webpages together, and Whiteboard, which provides a digital surface for users to draw diagrams, notes, and exchange ideas in the lifelike environment of brainstorming.
