This 30 day trial of Brosix allows companies to use ALL the features that they would be able to use with a paid subscription, so employees and owners alike can get the full Brosix experience.

Many companies who take advantage of the 30 day free trial realize how the intuitive features that go beyond text instant messaging can really help their business. Features like video chat, screensharing, and the award-winning Whiteboard can help businesses realize how much more productive they can be with Brosix.

This feature is pretty self-explanatory; it allows one user to send a file to another. However, what is unique about the Brosix File Transfer feature is that fact that it will compress files instantly, making it easy to send big files quickly. As internet has gotten faster and faster, computer users have gotten more impatient with download and sending speeds.

This file compression feature of the File Transfer tool makes it easy to get faster downloads and sends without having to increase overall internet or computer speeds. Of course, download and sending time will always vary by computer and the type of file that is being sent, but Brosix has made it possible to send files as fast as possible with the specifications each user has.

The File Transfer window lets each user know how long a file has left before the sending is completed, and it also allows the user who is sending the file to pause the file transfer, or cancel it.They can also close the “receiving files” box once the download is completed. Many users appreciate this, as they don’t like several useless windows open on their desktop.

The feature I am talking about is Brosix offline text messages. It is a great perk that lets you leave an offline message for one of your brosix contacts, even if they aren’t online. Simply select the person’s name, type your message as if they were online, and sent it. Brosix will deliver the message as soon as the person signs on next.

You may ask, “well I already have a phone. Why would I need brosix offline text massaging?” The answer is, there are many occasions when another type of communication besides phone and email may be needed:

1. Don’t know person’s phone number.
2. Phone lines are down.
3. It is a professional contact and you don’t want to call their cell phone.
4. You don’t want to bother the person at that time; or the message isn’t that high priority.

No matter why you need to leave a message when someone isn’t online, Brosix is there to make your busy life a lot easier.

Be sure to check out other easy Brosix features too, like video chat and file transfers.

However, as more and more employees are beginning to work at home or from different office locations around the country and even the world, screen sharing has become more important than ever.

Whether you are an employee at the office in Toronto and you need to see the screen of your co-worker in San Francisco, or you are tech specialist needing to help a customer set up something on their computer, screen sharing is a great way to help connect people and get things done more efficiently.

Quite simply, screen sharing is the act of sharing your desktop with another user, who is operating another computer. In most software, this other user can then control your computer remotely, or they can simply just view your actions on the screen.

Remote training and troubleshooting, as mentioned previously, are the most helpful attributes of screen sharing. Now, employees can be in any location and can still collaborate and learn from other co-workers and colleagues from any location. Additionally, customers who need assistance with using new software, working through technical problems, or changing settings can use screen sharing to have an experienced computer technician help them.

Screen sharing is just one of the many features Brosix Instant Messenger is proud to offer. To learn more, visit Brosix Screen Sharing. For a list of other available features, visit Brosix Features.

So, I thought I would get on the Brosix blog and write some of them out (as if you all needed another reason to download Brosix instant messenger anyway!)

Brosix Instant Messenger is FREE!

Brosix downloads fast, usually in less than 5 minutes, depending on download speeds.

Brosix is safe and keeps your computers free of viruses and other threats.

Brosix Public offers many of the same features that Brosix Enterprise does, but without the cost.

Brosix is awesome for freelance workers who have clients or colleagues they’d like to communicate with securely.

Brosix has a lot of great features that aren’t offered on other free IM programs- whiteboard, voicemail, screen sharing, and more.

A free 30 day trial of Brosix Enterprise is always offered on http://www.brosix.com

Brosix offers great forums for those who have questions and need help when using their IM program, along with friendly and prompt customer service.

I could keep going on and on about all the features that both the Public and Enterprise versions of Brosix Instant Messaging offers, but you should find out what you like best about Brosix by downloading it and then let us know in the comments below!

Over time we have decided that at some point we should completely stop developing Brosix 2.0 and replace it with Brosix 3 for all platforms – Windows, Mac and Linux.

We started a completely new development (not just porting the old code) that will work on Windows, Mac and Linux. After more than 8 month’s work we are close to completing it. Brosix 2.0 has many features, and it will take us some time to implement all of them for Brosix 3. So, we are going to release Brosix 3 with a sub-set of Brosix 2.0 features and over the time we will release other features one by one.

We have tried to select the most important features for Brosix 3:

Text Chat

Text Conference

History – compared to Brosix 2.0 this contains information about all communication events, not only text chat which is the case with Brosix 2.0

File Transfer

Co-Browse – this uses improved and more user-friendly process.

Screen-shot

Missing features are:

Whiteboard

Screen Sharing

Audio call

Video call

Voice Conference

Voice Mail

We are going to implement these in a completely new way that will improve user experience.

There are some new features in Brosix 3:

Multiple languages – in addition to English user interface we will make translations to other languages – Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Russian, Bulgarian etc.

Skins – Brosix 3 allows users to select from different skins for the GUI.

One of the important changes in Brosix 3 is that we will remove “Full text formatting” feature in the Text Chat. This feature allows user A to send user B a text by changing the font, color, background, style of each character. We will allow only bold, italic and underline formatting. The reason for this decision is that user A may want larger font size, but user B sends him/her text with small font size. This could be very inconvenient for A and also inconvenient for B to receive large text by A. Also, text font by A may be incompatible with Text Chat area of B (blue letters on blue background for example The major rule will be “Everyone sees the text in his own setting – font, size, color, and only bold, italic and underline will be allowed to help people emphasize on words or phrases”

But what about the rest of the world? Lots of small to medium businesses can’t afford a pro to help with day-to-day decisions. So here’s a run down of the basic corporate messenger features you should be looking for when you choose an enterprise instant messenger.

1. Security
Before anything else, security should be your #1 priority with a corporate messenger. No matter how functional or pretty the IM client is, if it can’t keep your valuable information safe then it has no right being on your list.

When looking for security, be sure you to check whethor or not the corporate messenger can handle encrypted chats AND file transfers. Also be sure that the public has zero access to your employees as this will help in productivity as well as prevent accidental loss of valuable information to imposters.

2. Tools
What’s a good corporate messenger if it can’t handle the basic chatting and file sharing functions? Not much. Make sure your corporate messenger of choice has these basics, but look for more. Brosix has screen sharing, co-browsing, video chatting and conferencing, and even voice chatting, plus a whole lot more.

3. Support
This one tends to get ingnored, but support for your corporate messenger is critical. Who do you call if the system goes down? If you go with a company that is too big, and you don’t spend enough with them, you might get stuck on hold for extended periods of time. Look a smaller development firms who will value your business.

4. Cost
Of course, cost is important with a corporate messenger. No, these aren’t free and for good reason. You get a LOT of protection and support when you pay for it. The key is to know your costs on the front end so you don’t get surprised later.

So what are the key features you should be looking for? How can you tell if your top choice is really the best corporate instant messenger for the job? Here’s a list and a few reasons why Brosix should be at the top of yours:

Security
The most important feature you should be considering is security. Are files and messages encrypted when sent? What level of encryption is applied? Many “secure” instant messengers only encrypt files while text messages are left open for interception. Brosix encrypts every transmission from the Brosix interface and even scans files for the most recent viruses.

o Encryption of all transmissions

o Virus protection

Features
Of course the basics like chatting should be available, but what about co-browsing, file transferring, screen sharing, voice conferencing, and even video conferencing? With Brosix, you get all of those features and many, many more.

o Chat

o Text conferencing

o Co-browse

o Screen sharing

o Voice calls

o Voice conference

o Video calls

o Whiteboard

Control
Next up is control – who can use what and with whom? Most corporate instant messenger suites do not provide a Dashboard for controlling users. Brosix allows you to limit what features your employees have access to as well as who they can chat with , to name only a few.

o Dashboard for user control

o Ability to limit user feature access

o Ability to limit user access to a set list of contacts

o Ability to view past conversations/history

Either you have to take the software as it is, or you should pass it on by and find something else to meet your needs. In most cases, that is true.

Brosix however is not most cases. Brosix can help you to customize its secure messenger to meet your needs.

Maybe you don’t want employee’s to be able to screen share for security purposes, but you want them to be able to send tagged video messages to a community area on your website. A great option if your CEO want to be able to have virtual briefings with staff across the country on demand (its working for President Obama) or perhaps you want all of your departments to come up with and upload possible viral videos for use on You Tube. Either way Brosix can help you get exactly what you need.

If you want to get a quote on customizing this already versatile messenger, all you have to do is contact the sales office using this form. Just be sure to choose ‘Sales’ from the pull down menu. Once we get your request we will do all of the leg work for you, getting bidders from our own staff, as well as from reliable third party service providers, and then we will send you the most budget friendly of the bids for your consideration.

Truly custom software for the lowest price available. No stress, no fuss, just fill out a simple contact form. Could doing business get any easier?
