Teaching Social Media Via Co-Browsing

Share

For many people, social media and networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter are still a relatively new medium to master. Older age demographics are the fastest growing section of the population on Facebook, but this doesn’t mean that retired persons and others (e.g. “Baby Boomers”) aren’t confused about how to use Facebook and other social media sites properly.

Fortunately, Brosix has several tools and features available that can combat this problem. Besides video chat, which allows users to use their webcam to video conference with one another, there is also co-browsing, which allows one user to see the other’s screen. When using this feature and the phone, employees or family members can teach customers (or their parents!) how to use social media websites correctly.

For example, if a mother calls her son wanting to know how to create and publish a photo album on Facebook, they can use Co-Browse. The son will go through the steps of creating the photo album, and the mother can watch. Visually seeing the steps being completed can help many people learn much more quickly.

Another example is a client who wants to be more engaged in their social media efforts and wants to know the basics of Twitter. Using Co-Browse and the telephone, a staff member can walk him or her through the process easily.
