The meaning of ‘instant’ messaging

Share

The reason why I like instant messaging programs like Brosix is because they are, as the name says, instant. If you see that someone on your buddy list is online, then you know they are available to talk to you. In most cases, your buddy is sitting right at their computer, and they will be able to see your IM to them instantly.

You do not have to wait for them to check their email, voicemail, text messages, or be at their desk. This is why instant messages work so well. The majority of people are unable to ignore the bouncing or flashing icon on their desktop alerting them to a new IM. IMs are also very easy to respond to and usually take no time at all to read.

If text messaging is a comic book, then I definitely see instant messaging as a novel- full of unlimited themes, resources, and long character limits. Instant messaging shows that is is possible to have productive and quick conversations while the use of email, telephones, or physical contact. Perhaps this is why Brosix Instant Messaging is fast becoming the future of workplace communication.

P.S. On a separate note: I have updated the profile that updates the Brosix Fan page on Facebook. If you would like to add me as a friend, search for my name: Kelsey Childress and add the profile with the Brosix logo! (I will try to find a permalink soon.)
