Utilizing Brosix Chat Logs
One of the benefits of Brosix is the fact that the instant messaging program logs all instant messaging conversations that are held between users. There are several uses of these chat logs, both for administrators, managers, and employees alike. Below are some of the instances and reasons why instant messaging chat logs can be useful to several different types of users.
- Administrators can view chat logs to make sure employees can stay on task.
- Users can review chat conversations with other co-workers to see if they had discussed a deadline for project.
- If an employee forgets a meeting time that was mentioned in an instant messaging conversation, they can view the chat logs to see where it was mentioned.
- If a user gives a quote for a story, blog post, or press release through instant messaging, the writer of the content can go back through the chat logs to retrieve the quote when they are ready to include it in the content.
- Managers can review chat logs of employees during annual employee performance reviews to make sure they are using Brosix Instant Messenger correctly.
The Brosix program calls all chat logs a “Chat History”, which can be reviewed at anytime by following these steps:
You can open the chat history browser either from a chat window or from the main messenger window.
- When you use a chat window, click on the chat history button:

- From the main messenger window, select a name from your contact list and then click on the chat history icon.
