Work with your Employees to choose the Best Corporate Instant Messenger

Share

Imagine this: you are the person in charge of finding the perfect corporate instant messenger for your organization. While you may turn to the most common options and call it a day, you know that this could lead to trouble in the future. For this reason, you start to think about the many corporate instant messengers that are available and what they can do for you. While this is a great place to start, at some point you will begin to wonder if you are making the right decision.

Enter your employees.

If you are in the midst of searching for the best corporate instant messenger, you should be conversing with those who will use the application on a regular basis. After all, they are the ones who know what is important, what they need to succeed, and how the final decision should be made.

In some companies it is feasible to include every employee in the decision making process. Of course, with bigger organizations this is next to impossible. Rather than forget about this altogether, grab a few people from each department. This way, everybody is represented in the decision making process.

But won’t this make for more confusion in the long run? Some people avoid asking employees for input because they feel it will lead to a divided front. There is no denying that different opinions will be thrown out. But remember, this is all part of selecting the best corporate instant messenger. You should be interested in what others think; even if they do not agree with you.

One of the biggest mistakes an organization can make is putting one person in charge of choosing a corporate instant messenger. Instead, when employees are involved, those who will use the application, everybody can be confident in the final decision.
